Well, not some people have said that nothing cutesy, but I actually really like cutesy stuff. I tend to go for fairytales, high fantasy, intellectual comedy (as opposed to the 'stupid-is-funny' sort), and action movies where it's more of an adventure than a slaughter house.. ooh, and period pieces too, and non-shallow drama.. (you know, the doctor saving the sick child as opposed to jill is in love with joe who's cheating on her with the butler's hot daughter but is going to marry jill for her money. >.> ) anything with some aspect of adventure and out-of-the ordinary that lets you step outside of your life into something different and new and interesting appeals to me. ^_^

I hate, hate, hate horror movies. Things jumping out to frighten you, and people getting hurt and killed and such? *shudders* not my cup of tea at all.

I like deep, quirky storylines. In various genres.

Confessions of a shopaholic got me swooning, as it is cute, and spposedly cliche, but isn't. There's something dep about it in a seemingly shallow film.

That said, I like films with hidden meanings/ morals that are not apparent at face value.

Pursuit of Happyness, Blood Diamond. . are a few movies I appreciate.

My mother and I, who are both INFP's, enjoy some films in most if not all genres, but we almost always like psychological thrillers. The Matrix, Artificial Intelligence, Primal Fear, and Frequency are a few that come to mind that fall under that category. In contrast, we both hated Snow Dogs and we both thought Star Wars was dull.

I enjoy horror, suspense, thrillers and dark comedies. I really like how someone said don't be surprised if we return a movie unwatched and get it at a later time to view it. For me this is so true.

I know I'm responding late, but after seeing that one response I thought it was so fitting that I had to respond.

One of my favorite movies of all time is Will Ferrell's Stranger Than Fiction. I love sci-fi. Resident Evil 2 was kick ass.

Like I said, being an INFP is not an indicator of what genre of movie a person likes. INFP is a behavioral preference not a personality indicator. Have your husband take the Personality Self-Portrait. That's a better indicator of likes and dislikes.

I actually like anything except lots of comedies. (Well the kind that are just stupid. i.e. Will Ferrell movies, or the :kick in the nuts, or belching, etc, it's more or less "how old are we?") But comedies like "Airplane" or actual humor I LOVE. Action movies are great just to get out of the house, and anything that has a twist, or has an emotional outcome (whether it be happy, sad, angry, or pending)

INFP is a behavior preference. It can tell you how a person gives directions or whether they'll show up time, but the MBTI preferences isn't really a good indicator of favorite movies.

If you want to counteract the behavior of your INFP husband not speaking up, then I suggest that you make him choose at least two movies per month. Two per month is plenty because just because an INFP picks a movie they like, it doesn't mean they'll watch it when it arrives. We INFPs will watch it if we feel like it. If not we'll return unwatched and get it again at some later date.

Don't feel bad if your NetFlix account is all your movies. My wife is an INTJ. I have all her movies listed first because I know she'll actually watch hers. When I really want to see something, I'll bump my movie to the top.
