the human mind

Saw this posted elsewhere on tribe and I found it very interesting, especially to people like me who drift to the right brain ("la la land") periodically.

Do you think it was insightful, or just hippie talk (as one commenter on youtube said)

    Heh!

La la meet La la la la! la! de dum...

I loved watching (part of) this, and thankyou so much for putting the link up to share. I didn't get to see all of it buggar buggar, I think it has something to do with me being on dial up and not enough internet grunt.

Really interesting lady! I got to the bit where she realised something was really wrong, I'm assuming she called for help at this stage, but I'm not sure.. I really enjoyed listening to what I could of her, and yes I flit and flip the brain.

There is a little animation thingo of a female figure dancing, apparently it goes one way for left brainers and the other direction for for right brained inclined folk.. Dunno if you have worked on that or had a crack at shifting her momentum.

I am able to get her stop/start/go opposite direction(s)/stop/start, at whim...I will try and find her and post the link.

I think we have so much further to take ourselves with brain power it's not funny. Next to my intuition and emotions, my brain rocks...I'll bet yours does too...they are so much fun and sooooo interesting in how they work and how they work but we don't know about yet...I could quite easily obsess on this stuff.

    ............Wait, oh, I kinda do..:)

Forgive me, I love people and brain stuff.

      aha!

      found that doll thingy
      www.news.com.au/heraldsun/...661,00.html

I saw her turn anti-clockwise at first.
Then when I concentrated on her only, she turned clockwise.
      amazing! Thanks!

Yes, in the video, she calls for help, realizes she cant read or remember her office phone#, then realizes she cant understand speech, or speak coherently. Its very interesting till the end, and you can see that its all truly flowing from inside her.

what an interesting test! I saw her clearly going clockwise and made an effort to see her go the other way...then I had a hard time going back!

wow that's a trip. at first i thought it was a joke, cause i couldn't get it to change. hah. it took me a really long time to get her to go the other way, anti-clockwise. and i had to keep my eyes unfocused or squint . but when i finally got her to go that way, i found it really relaxing. felt like unwinding. it's hard to go back and forth. that's so weird. i'm thoroughly tripped out.

and re the stroke thing, when i was a kid i used to lay in bed with my eyes closed because it took me a long time to fall asleep, and this thing would happen, i would 'see'/feel.. experience, whatever, this kind of .... expansive pale pink and blue and white scene... maye the blurry form of a polar bear, at least i thought it was a polar bear, there was no real definition anywhere. and then snap, i'd be in this constrained little space, staring at a bulletin board, covered with old newspaper clippings and other scrapbook type stuff, very cluttered, a half empty glass of wine, a revolver i think, lots of detail, very tight small space... and all weathered and worn... mostly yellowy black and brown. and the poof, id be back in the expansiveness, and snap, back in the constriction.... sometimes it went back and forth really fast, like a second, sometimes it was more like a couple seconds. i haven't had it in a long time, but sometimes i still get it, for a short while and it goes away. but when i was younger, it was almost constant.
it was the same thing she was describing, going back and forth. same experience. i always wondered about that, always meant to ask someone about it, what it meant, although i kind of thought it was just... i don't know, my imagination?

anyway, thanks for that, it's been enlightening all around!

I found it insightful. I found it related to the ideas discussed in Conversations with God. I do believe there is far more potential in the human brain than we have so far unveiled. I think most of humanity, myself included, tends to just run on autopilot and gets mired in the day to day activities and thoughts. What could be possible if we consciously chose our thoughts? All the time. When I consider what's possible, I become more conscious and able to reach that place of inner peace she speaks of. It does take some effort to choose consciously and I do go back to autopilot to take a break now and then, but living at choice is so much happier and fulfilling!
